Mattel just announced that American Girl is experiencing a positive sales trend. In Quarter 3 of 2025 (July to September), American Girl experienced its fourth consecutive quarter of growth, meaning sales have been rising for the last year. In the face of other dolls like Barbie and Polly Pocket struggling, and the overall Mattel company experiencing a slip in sales - American Girl is experiencing a bright spot.

American Girl just released their holiday commercial for 2025 - check it out!

Mattel has announced that they have gotten the rights to make dolls based on the Netflix animated movie Kpop Demon Hunters, which was an unexpected smash hit this summer. Seeing as American Girl’s target demographic loved this movie, I am curious - does this mean we’ll get Kpop Demon Hunters dolls in the future? I’ve seen some really good customs of the 3 main leads - Rumi, Mira and Zoey - so I’m sure that if American Girl did them, they’d look just as cool. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens!

Today, it was announced that Mattel is renewing their licensing agreement with Disney Princess and Disney Frozen, which gives Mattel brands like American Girl the right to make dolls based on Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Brave, Cinderella, Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Moana, Mulan, Pocahontas, The Princess and the Frog, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Tangled and Raya and the Last Dragon,   along with the Disney Princess live action theatrical films. This agreement also includes Frozen 3, which is set to release in 2027, so it's safe to say that the Disney Princess and Frozen American Girl dolls will be releasing for years to come.

Recently, American Girl trademarked the name Avey. This was a name trademarked a few years ago, but a few weeks ago, American Girl trademarked the name again. This is usually the time of the year the Girl of the Year's name is trademarked - do you think Avey could be our 2027 Girl of the Year? 2027 is my graduation year, so I'm curious to find out!
