Today on Broadway, there was a reunion of three actors from the American Girl Live touring musical that toured America from December 2018 to May 2019! Laila Drew, who played Melody, is part of the cast of a new Broadway musical called Suffs, based on the women's suffrage movement. Today, Shelby Miguel, who played Nanea, and Ashley Diane, who played Luciana, visited Laila to see Suffs, and they took a selfie together to commemorate the AG reunion!

American Girl recently announced on their Facebook page that they are releasing an Isabel and Nicki mystery graphic novel in the spring of 2025!

American Girl just commented this on Instagram: "We're excited to introduce more classic character collections in the future. I just heard a rumor on the American Girl Reddit page that a user went to the American Girl store in LA, and an employee told her there is a rumor going around that the Girl of the Year 2025, rumored to be named Summer McKinny, is a descendant of Samantha Parkington, one of the original 3 American Girl dolls. This is the first I'm hearing of this rumor, but I figured I'd share it here just in case it turns out to be true!

Today is Luciana's birthday! She was born this day in 2006, making her 18 today.

While American Girl has been integrated in the full Mattel brand, exact sales for the brand have not been reported for Quarter 1 of 2024. However, probably driven by the new Disney Princess and Truly Me launches in Quarter 1 (January, February and March), Mattel announced that sales "grew" in Quarter 1 of 2024. According to the AGDN archives, the last quarter American Girl sales grew was Quarter 3 of 2021, when the original 6 historicals released, so this seems like a good sign!

Maryellen Larkin is the May 2024 Doll of the Month! Maryellen Larkin is from Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1954. She is the middle child in a family of seven kids and loves television, astronauts and letting her imagination soar. At first, she tries her best to stand out from the crowd, including her siblings, by doing things such as painting her front door red and dressing up in a brand-new poodle skirt outfit for the first day of fourth grade. But, throughout her adventures, she learns that she doesn't have to try to stand out - being herself is enough. Maryellen was released in 2015, the first historical doll to come out during the BeForever era, and has been available since.

IT FINALLY CAME! Well, this is a week and a few days later than I was hoping ... but Julie's journal finally came, and I was able to read it! Here's my review! The book was a retelling of Meet Julie with illustrations, and it pretty much delivered on showing everything that happened in Meet Julie! There's not much more I can say because it was literally the cliffnotes version of Meet Julie and there wasn't any new content, but I feel like girls who haven't read Meet Julie will enjoy this as an introduction to her world before reading her two volumes. (Which, by the way, were in the back of the book advertised, so the books aren't being phased out!)

Rubies Costumes revealed their new American Girl costumes! In kids sizes, there are Maryellen, Melody, Julie and Courtney costumes, and in adult sizes, there is Samantha, Kirsten, Molly and Kit costumes.
