My new Pre-Mattel Samantha's here! I picked her up on time, and she was a bit dirty. I cleaned her up and put her in her Frilly Frock, and she looked good as new! Here she is: Samantha is very pretty! I made her be twins with Beckie because they are so close together in purchase dates. She is good friends with Beckie and Shelly. This is what Samantha "wrote" about herself (I actually wrote it, because dolls can't write!) "Hi everyone! My name is Samantha Parkington, and I am 10 years old. I was made with my twin sister Beckie, but then we got separated in production. I ended up going to another girl for a couple years, but then I got neglected and sold to Sydney. I am glad I went with Sydney because I ended up with Beckie again! I want to be an artist when I grow up." Her picture will be up on the header ASAP and her virtual doll will be up with Beckie's today. You guys usually help me with my dilemmas. But, this one, I feel like it should get it's own post. Because I solved it myself. So, it was dinnertime yesterday. I was eating with Beckie like I do when I get new dolls. My dad was scrolling through Facebook. And that's when he found this listing on a local bargain page. SAMANTHA AMERICAN GIRL DOLL- $40! Then, Dad rushed to tell me. Since I just got Beckie that day, I stopped eating my turkey sandwich and started walking up thinking, "I'll just sell her on eBay." Then I saw her face. It was a Pre-Mattel face. I thought, "OMG YES! BIG BUCKS!" A hour later, it turns out that she was still available. After that I thought, "Shouldn't I keep her? I don't have Samantha, and all 32 of my dolls are Mattel made!" All night last night, I was torn. But when I woke up, I challenged myself to find a quality in each doll I have that stands out from the rest. Sometimes it was their hair. Sometimes it was their eyes. But I found a trait that was different in each doll. Ivy was stylish. Nicki was a natural. Chrissa was loving. Julie was funky. Lanie was sweet. Kit was honest. Ruthie was trendy. Kanani was fun. Caroline was spunky. Sierra was caring. Sydney was brave. Saige was friendly. Isabelle was graceful. Anna was resourceful. Kaya was bold. Felicity was gentle. Opal was ready for anything. Abigail was sweet. Grace was daring. Ocean was smart. Summer was a fighter. Marisol was grateful. Beth was curious. Shelly was a leader. Emily was tough. Maryellen was imaginative. Lindsey had perserverance. Lea was spirited. Molly was determined. April was a good listener. Jade was focused. Beckie was strong. So, I came to the conclusion that even though new dolls always come, I would always love each doll in her special way. In other words, I would keep Samantha. Before I tell you about my new doll, I want to apologize for not posting yesterday. It was my diaversary, and I was really busy. To make up for the postless day yesterday, I will post 2 POSTS today! Today I got a new doll as a diaversary gift! Even though it was yesterday, it still kind of counts because Saturday is the day I usually go to the American Girl store. Only my family, my real life friends and my friend Jill from the American Girl store know who I got. Here's my opening video! Rebecca will be renamed to Beckie to avoid confusion with Rebecca Hansen (Different character, if you live underneath a rock). A headband that seems to go with the leaked plum holiday dress just leaked on eBay. Here it is: Of course it has to include AG's signature headband tag! The gemstones on the headband seem to match the gemstones on the purse included with the outfit. Here is the full outfit with the headband: Overall, I love the headband. I think that it makes the outfit complete. AMERICAN GIRL TRIVIA: Every year after the new year starts, the holiday dresses are put on sale and then are retired as they sell out. Today, I went to the pool, sweated in 90+ degree weather and had a mini-play date with a old friend that I haven't seen in years. Fun times! OK, so the shoutout for this week goes to... I found this outfit from huaclub_1984's eBay account. I think it's either for the Truly Me dolls, Julie Albright or the Girl of the Year 2017 (rumored to be Tenney Grant). Here it is! This outfit is so cute! Whoever it ends up being for, I will purchase it. The white thing appears to be a headband. It is very sparkly and fancy. The top is mostly purple, but it also has purple and silver sequins. I like the top, but it's a bit too glitzy for some of my dolls, like Kit or Emily. I think it will look very pretty on Lea. The leggings are plain and black, but with a silver line on one side. Of course it has to be a bit fancy! These look like to be armwarmers. Whatever they are, I like them. Overall, this outfit is goals! AMERICAN GIRL TRIVIA: McKenna's full name was revealed on the American Girl 25th Anniversary Cruise in November 2011. Two mock covers for the Girl of the Year 2017 books are up on Amazon. While the plot for this book and the next book is unknown, the doll is rumored to be of color. American Girl has been really sneaky about the Girl of the Year 2017 leaking this year. If it's my fault, I am so sorry. But, the drastic measure that I planned to set out on doing in return for my American Girl Stop Motion movie Different hitting 1000 views before my diaversary on Friday cannot be stopped by American Girl, Scholastic, Mattel, or any other company or individual, unless it's my mom, dad, sister or dog!
