  • Let's Think... GOTY 2017!

UPDATE- JULY 12, 2016= Girl of the Year 2017's name is Tenney Grant, and she is going to be African-American! Proof is, her book author is African American, too! This is Teresa E. Harris! Woah! Since we have so much information on Lea (GOTY 2016), it's time to start thinking of GOTY 2017! When I met Mary Casanova in June at AGP Charlotte (I was first in line!), I asked her a question. Me: "I know that you did Jess in 2006, Chrissa in 2009, McKenna in 2012 and Grace in 2015." Mary: (signs my books) "Yes?" Me: "Well, will you do Girl of the Year 2018's books?" Mary: "I'll find out next summer!" Inferring from what Mary said, AG probably found the author for GOTY 2017's books and thought of a simple plot this summer. So, we can start thinking of basic stuff, like names! We have quite a few names now, like Barbara, Emerson, Camille, Gabriela and Melody Ellison. I made a list of trademark dates for GOTY names, so we can guess if the GOTY name is trademarked now. Lindsey got trademarked on September 24, 2001, 2 months before her debut Kailey got trademarked on September 27, 2002, 10 months before her debut Marisol got trademarked on January 31, 2004, 10months before her debut Jess got trademarked on December 16, 2004, 11 months before her debut Nicki got trademarked on unknown Mia got trademarked on unknown Chrissa got trademarked on February 22, 2008, 10 months before her debut Sonali got trademarked on February 22, 2008, 10 months before debut Gwen got trademarked on unknown Lanie got trademarked on February 22, 2008, 1 year and 10 months before debut Kanani got trademarked on February 23, 2010, 10 months before debut McKenna got trademarked on October 18, 2010, 1 year and 2 months before debut Saige got trademarked on January 25, 2012, 11 months before debut Isabelle got trademarked on November 16, 2012, 1 year and 2 months before debut Grace got trademarked on December 16, 2013, 1 year before debut Do you think that she'll be trademarked next month?

  • New Lea Book!

You know how American Girl released Baking with Grace? I (and you probably did too) thought that Baking with Grace was going to be the only GOTY activity book. No, sir! On the Georgetown Publications (what AG uses to distribute their books in Canada) website, there is a new book listed named Explore with Girl of the Year 2016 (Lea!) It will come out on August 1, 2016. The description says (I'll edit out the Girl of the Year 2016 censoring): Features Lea, Girl of the Year 2016 Girls will craft their way through Brazil's most interesting cultural offerings (while learning a few Portuguese words, as well) Crafts may feature a Queen of the Sea Festival outfit, a wish bracelet fence, a barimbau, a nature expedition featuring binoculars, a canoe and a fishing pole, a jungle camping scene, a telescope and jungle hammock, or snorkeling gear What do you think?

  • Today is My Day!

I'm having a lucky leak day today. I found some more outfits! Will I succeed in the mission to find Lea? This first outfit is a green-trimmed bathrobe with crazy prints. It is paired with the Truly Me meet flats, but all Chinese sellers like to do that, right? I don't like this bathrobe. I hope it's just a prototype/factory reject. I'd never buy it even if it was on sale for a penny. The next item- 30th Anniversary Mini Maryellen popped up again! She is wearing her birthday dress and comes in a ponytail. She also comes with a stand with her name and year on it. I really like the doll, but since the birthday dress is my least favorite outfit from her collection, I think I'd buy the regular mini. I'd still buy this mini if she was on sale! The last outfit is a purple top with mint stripes and simple pink pants. It also comes with blue tennis shoes. I like the top and pants, but those shoes look like they're from Our Generation/Journey Girls/My Life As, etc. I'd buy the outfit, lose one shoe (because half of my outfits only have one shoe and they become useless) and then I'd be happy.

  • Lea Clark Movie Cast List!

The potential cast list for the Lea movie is out on IMDB! (Internet Movie Database)! It is still under the codename "Gemma", but it is set to be directed by Nadia Tass, an Australian director who also directed the Samantha and Felicity movies. Knowing that the Felicity movie is my second favorite AG movie (Molly is first), I hope that it's not as cheesy as McKenna, Saige, Isabelle. It is also set to be released in May, but that's probably not going to happen.... Lissie and Lilly found the cast list, and I thought that I'd share it with you too! And the lucky girl portraying Lea is... Maggie Elizabeth Jones! Maggie is a 12 year old girl who is known for playing Rosie Mee in We Bought A Zoo (2011), Stella in The First Time (2012), Jessie Patterson in Identity Thief (2013) and Amy Warnicker in Footloose (2011). She is white with red hair and brown eyes. Don't lose hope, because AnnaSophia Robb wore a wig to play Samantha, Shailene Woodley dyed her hair red for Felicity, Sidney Fullmer dyed her hair red for Saige, etc. This Maggie girl might get a spray tan and dye her hair brown to look like the mini doll we all know and love! I'm a lazy person so I'll just type up the rest of the cast's names. Hallie Todd (Lizzie McGuire) as Carol, Lea's mom Sean Cameron Michael (Black Sails) as Ricardo, mystery character Dylan Edy (Momentum) as Luiz, mystery character Storm Reid (12 Years A Slave) as "Aki" (code for ethier Abby or Camilla), Lea's friend Laysla de Oliveira (Gothica) as Paula, Zac's girlfriend Joe Vaz (Restless) as Miguel, mystery character Conner Dodds (Prey) as Zac, Lea's brother Rehane Abrahams (Mama Africa) as Adriana, mystery character

  • What time period...

Hi. Today, I am going to analyze the names that AG trademarked and hasn't used (as of October 30, 2015) and figure out what time periods they were popular in.
