- Grace Stirs Up Success Is FINALLY On TV In America!
Usually, with the major exception of Kit, the American Girl movies are shown on TV before to a couple weeks after they come out. So I was in shock when I started school without a TV showing of Grace Stirs Up Success. It aired on Family Channel in Canada back in November, but we ended 2015 and Grace's year without an American TV showing. All hope was lost until, finally, we get to now. After nearly a year's wait, Grace Stirs Up Success is FINALLY airing on American TV! It will be on twice on Disney Channel (where the actress who plays Grace, Olivia Rodrigo's new show Bizaardvark will premiere June 24th) this weekend. The first date is this Saturday (June 11, 2016) at 8 pm Eastern, 11 pm Pacific. The last date is this Sunday (June 12, 2016) at 9 am Eastern, 12 pm Pacific. I am so happy that it finally got the TV airing it deserved! COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: What doll do you think got the best collection? MY ANSWER: Not to be biased, but Grace's because I have the majority of it!
- Special Edition Holiday Dress 2016?
In 2013, American Girl debuted the store exclusive Merry and Bright Gown Set for a whopping $72. The next year followed with the Ruby Ball Gown Set in 2014 at $72 again. The price dropped in 2015 with the Frosted Violet Gown at $58. Now, we're in 2016, and the fall release stuff is starting to leak. This dress didn't look like a regular holiday outfit to me, so I'm just assuming that it's the store exclusive, expensive dress without the accessories. My feeling might be wrong about the special edition one, so don't tell yourself it is yet. Let's spill the beans, now! The gown is white with snowflakes on the petticoat, which tells us it's for the holidays. Woah, the kindergarteners' graduation concert was today and stuff is already putting me in the Christmas spirit! Here is the rest: I love this outfit! I hope that it's not store exclusive so it won't be expensive. COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: What is your favorite American Girl book or movie? MY ANSWER: My favorite American Girl book is Taking Off and my favorite American Girl movie is Molly: An American Girl On The Home Front. The close seconds are Grace (book) and Lea To The Rescue (movie).
- Bitty Twins Are Retiring!
It started as just a rumor, so I wanted to wait until it was confirmed. And it is! So, the Bitty Twins are retiring! The Bitty Twins are cute and all (I used to have 2, the blond haired boy that I named Issac and the brown haired light skin girl that I named Sophie), and as much as it doesn't effect me, I am sad that they are retiring. Now, there are no (official) American Girl dolls that are boys. Boys like dolls, too! (Casual shoutout to americangirlwonder, he's awesome and happens to be a boy who likes dolls) But, there is hope for you to get the Bitty Twins before they retire if you want! The Bitty Twin dolls listed below are in "limited quantities" online. When I go to the American Girl store next Saturday, I'll do a stock check on them. But anyways, let's just get to the doll sets that only have a limited amount left (or are sold out): SOLD OUT -Dark Skin, Black Hair, Brown Eyes (both boy and girl) LIMITED AMOUNT LEFT -Medium Skin, Brown Hair, Brown Eyes (girl) + any boy -Light Skin, Black Hair, Brown Eyes (girl) + any boy -Dark Skin, Black Hair, Brown Eyes (girl) + any boy except the boy with her features -Light Skin, Brown Hair, Brown Eyes (girl) + any boy except the boy with her features -Light Skin, Blond Hair, Blue Eyes (girl)+ any boy except the boy with her features So basically, run to americangirl.com or your local AGP if you want any Bitty Twins. Except the white matching pairs. Then walk to americangirl.com or your local AGP if you want those. COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: Have you ever been to an American Girl store? If so, which ones? MY ANSWER: I have! I've been to the AGP Charlotte about 100 times, the AGP Los Angeles twice and the AGP Orlando once.
- Winter Outfit!
Warm Winter Outfit. Winter White Outfit. Frosty Fair Isle Set. The newest outfit to join the lineup of winter casual outfits just leaked! Here it is: The sweater in this outfit leaked last December, if any of you guys remember that. But the rest of the pieces are new! I love this outfit. Santa, if you are reading this, I have something on my wishlist already! COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: What was the best present you've ever received for whatever holiday you celebrate in December? MY ANSWER: When I got my iPad mini on Christmas Day 2012!
- I'M MAKING A REAL AMERICAN GIRL WORLD!
Yes, you are seeing the title right! You don't need glasses! I am going to make a real American Girl world using Scratch (the program I used to make 2 of the 3 games on my site). It would be like Innerstar University (which sadly closed on November 6, 2015 at 1 am eastern time), but more fun! You wouldn't need separate accounts for dolls, and you could activate Historicals and Girl of the Years, too! The best part- you can do more stuff than on the current American Girl world! So, when is it coming out? It is coming out on...... drumroll, please....... JULY 22 OF THIS YEAR! Why July 22? July 22 of last year was the worst day of my life. I got diagnosed with diabetes that day. But, my mom says that I should celebrate on July 22, and what better way to do it then release a new movie AND a new virtual game! MORE INFORMATION: -The New American Girl World will be a page on this site. It won't be on another website. -When the New American Girl World launches, then I will get rid of the link to the current one on My First World. Then, I will give the people signed up for the current one a week to transfer before the current one shuts down on July 29, 2016 around 6 am EST. COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: Do you want sneak peeks of the new American Girl world? MY ANSWER: No comment.
- Girl With Prosthetic Leg Receives Doll Just Like Her- And Her Reaction Goes Viral!
"It's got a leg like me!" -Emma Bennett, 2016 I've posted about a girl that received a doll with a prosthetic leg before, but here goes again. A 10 year old girl who has a prosthetic leg named Emma Bennett received an American Girl doll (I couldn't tell what number it was because the video was filmed in bad quality) and cried tears of joy when she realized that it had a leg like her! A company, One Step Ahead Prosthetics, costumized the doll to have a pink prosthetic leg. Her mom posted the video of her reaction on Facebook, and it has been viewed about 25 million times. Even the American Girl Facebook page shared it! When I saw this video, I got reminded yet again why I wanted to make Sydney's Special Dolls. So that every girl with a disability can see herself as a doll. If I posted a video of my reaction to the American Girl diabetes care kit, then you would need earplugs. So I didn't post it. COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: Who is your favorite Sydney's Special Doll so far? (Those 4 were not all of them, I am taking your ideas to mind!) MY ANSWER: Probably Katrina! But, then again. she's basically me in doll form with a different hair color. If Katrina didn't exist then my favorite would be Marie.
- Strawberry Outfit!
I found a strawberry-themed outfit on eBay. Here it is: The outfit seems very childish to me, and I would not get it. Unless it's the GOTY 2017 meet outfit. Then I'll make do. Here are a few more pictures: COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: What time is it when you are reading this? You can list your time zone, too. MY ANSWER: 2:24 PM in Eastern Time (America/Canada)
- Meet Sydney's Special Dolls!
I have mentioned on this website before that I am going to be launching a line of dolls, Sydney's Special Dolls soon. I am making them have special needs (and actually have stories!) because there is no American Girl character doll with a disability. Here are the biographies for 4 of my dolls: Meet Katrina- (red hair, brown eyes, light skin)- a type 1 diabetic with stars in her eyes. No, she doesn’t want to be an actress. She wants to be a wealthy director with Best Director Oscars and top tens off all time at the box office. Even though there has never, ever been a type 1 diabetic director, she is willing to try and keep her type 1 diabetes down. She likes to practice with her dolls, looks forward to spring, winter and summer breaks so she can make big productions, and always injects a message in her films. But then, she discovers that her movies could spread tons of awareness about her disease. Meet Marie- (brown hair, side bangs, hazel eyes, medium skin)- a Aspie with one dream- to become the first female president of the USA. She originally wanted to paint the White House pink when she was younger, but now she really wants to make a real difference. She writes 100 page essays on stopping poverty, gives rousing speeches to the city, and already is president of the student council. She wants to make the world a better place, even though her Asperger’s makes the little things get her. But then, she discovers that sometimes, other people have good ideas too, and you don’t have to be the leader all of the time. Meet Cecilia- (brown hair, brown eyes, light skin)- a girl with Celiac disease who wants to be a chef. She likes cooking dishes that relate to her Italian heritage, like pizzas and pastas- too bad she can’t have any. Because of her Celiac disease, she can’t taste what she makes, so she hired her two-year old brother, Alfred for the taste-testing job. She just loves the feeling of cooking a new dish, whether if it’s for her parents, Alfred, her best friend Kenzie or a crowd full of relatives on a summer family reunion. But soon, she discovers some wheat substitutes so everyone can enjoy what she makes- Cecilia included. Meet Virginia- (blond hair, full bangs, blue eyes, light skin)- a girl who loves to run, bike- just about every activity that isn’t sitting and watching TV. But a diagnosis of dysautonomia changes Virginia’s life- because she has to keep from getting dizzy, she has to cut down on her activity. Just when all hope is lost, Virginia soon realizes that she can build her way back up to where she used to be and take care of herself. So, do you like them?
- Hump Day Shoutout
It doesn't feel like a Wednesday, like last week! But it is. Anyways, the shoutout is going to this week... Chicago, Illinois! COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: What was the last book you read? When did you read it? MY ANSWER: I got a new book in the mail that is not from the video I just posted (view it below), but I can't say it's title but I finished it a couple minutes ago!
- GUYS!
I only need three more subscribers on my YouTube channel, SM Network, until I reach 250! 250 is a big deal because if I get another 250, than I'll have 500 subscribers! Please hit the YouTube button on the header to subscribe, and tell your friends to do the same! I haven't uploaded a real stopmotion in forever because I'm filming my summer movie right now, but here's my last one: If you liked the video, please subscribe! Share my channel on your blogs and your Instagrams if you can. It would make my day if I got to 250, or even 300! COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: Are you subscribed to me on YouTube? MY ANSWER: I can't subscribe to myself!
- Blue Dress!
I adore this blue dress that just leaked. I found it on huaclub_1984's eBay account. This is a very pretty dress! I will be sure to keep a look for it when the June release comes (a certain AGP Charlotte employee confirmed a June release a couple of weeks ago, I forgot to tell you guys that!). COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: Have you played any of my games/puzzles? If sure, which one is your favorite? MY ANSWER: My favorite game is Anita: Snow Runner. It took me a day to make, but was worth it!
- Lea To The Rescue Is Out!
Lea To The Rescue (the annual Girl of the Year movie that started in 2012 with McKenna*) is out on Apple TV, Amazon Instant Video and other Digital HD stores! Sorry, it won't come out on Netflix until the DVD comes out in 2 weeks. I will watch the movie when I get home from the high school car rider line (my sister is in 9th grade) and I will review it on here tonight! I have high hopes for this movie, considering the fact that it's only Amazon review right now is a 5 star one and it's directed by Nadia Tass (who directed two of my favorite American Girl movies!)! Will you watch Lea To The Rescue? *Yes, I am aware of the Chrissa movie, but the two dolls after that didn't get movies, so it wasn't an annual thing until McKenna.
