  • Fun Day Memorial Day!

Since it's so dreary outside and I'm making tons of puzzles/games, I am declaring today Fun Day Memorial Day! That's the only day of the year that I don't check leaks (unless something TOTALLY HUGE comes up), but instead make games and puzzles! I added a McKenna puzzle, a Anita Stops The Bullying 2 puzzle and a Lea puzzle since I last posted, and I added a Ice Cream Shop game. Keep looking to see what I cook up! COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: What dolls should I do a puzzle or game for?

  • Puzzles!

If you were here way back when Wordpress hosted my site, you might remember that I had a page that was just links to American Girl doll puzzles. Well, since I'm trying to get people to stay on my site longer (41% of you guys in the last 24 hours just looked at one post and then went on another website), I found out a way to actually embed the puzzles into pages on my blog! I'm so happy because I missed having puzzles on my blog, and I know you will just adore the puzzles. I put up a Saige puzzle and a Isabelle puzzle last night, and a McKenna one will come soon! If you want to check them out, then go to "Puzzles", then choose which puzzle you want to play. So, come for the leaks and stay for the games/puzzles! (Lea Run is still up in the Games page, and I'm working on a new game now!) COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: What doll do you think should get a puzzle?

  • An Important Lesson In Life

This is a rare post that has nothing to do with American Girl or dolls. But today, I learned a important lesson while I was playing outside. Sure, it was dreary all day and I had to be cooped up inside for a long time. But then, the sun finally came up. I was so happy when the sun finally came up, because HOORAY! I could play outside. And it was worth the wait. Fifteen minutes into my outdoor play (I can't go outside over a half hour or else my blood sugar will get too low), it started to drizzle. When I felt the first drop, I was blasting my music and on my swing, having tons of fun. But my first thought was, "Great. It's going to rain!" So I stopped my music. When I stopped, the couple of drops turned into drizzle. I tried a trick to stop the drizzle that worked maybe 99 out of 100 times. It was probably coincidental all of the times it worked, because all I did was pretend to bark and be like my puppy, Snickerdoodle. Snickerdoodle is the cutest puppy in the world. Here's a picture of her: Yep. World's cutest puppy. So then, I barked. And instead of the drizzle stopping, BANG! It just kept "drizzling" on. So I stopped my swing, got out and went on my phone to cancel my half-hour timer. But then, I realized that it might thunderstorm tomorrow, and I would be out of luck. But this drizzle, was just water. Nothing harmless. So I decided to go blast the song I was blasting and have a dance party in the rain. I did just that, and had tons of fun. Sure enough, by the end of the song, the rain was gone! But, why did I name the post the name I chose? Because, when I got back on my swing, I realized that I had two choices when I got diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last summer. Choice 1 was the easy route. That route was to cry over the diagnosis and not be happy with myself. But Choice 2 was difficult. It was to actually do the stuff I had to do with confidence. I chose Choice 2, spread a lot of awareness about Type 1 diabetes, and led my grade level at school to raise $201 for JDRF. When I announced the results at lunch to the whole grade, lunch became a party. There was high-fives and hugs, and of course, the big standing ovation right when the results were announced. And that party would never exist if I didn't choose Choice 2. Same with the aftermath of my experience with the princess party lady a couple of weeks ago with my dad and Jade. (Search for "Why I'm Creating Sydney's Special Dolls" a couple of pages in my blog feed back to know what happened.) Choice 1 was to mope around again, knowing that there was a gender stereotype with dolls, princesses and "girly things" like that. Choice 2, was to fight against those stereotypes and get more awareness for diseases. I'm a Choice 2 girl through and through. And in today's situation, Choice 1 was to go home, and Choice 2 was to dance in the rain. I chose Choice 2, thankfully. And now I will always choose Choice 2 in life. COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: Do you have a pet? MY ANSWER: I have the Cutest Puppy In The World named Snickerdoodle!

  • My Girl Of The Year Predictions! GOTYs 2018-2027!

I'm just crazy to start thinking about GOTY 2018, and I'm much more crazy to start thinking about GOTY 2027. But, I was bored, so I decided to go ahead and predict the dolls! I'm only predicting looks, because I built generators based on even-and-odd yeared GOTY patterns and my knowledge of heredity and genetics from school for fun. "And to study for the Science EOG, too." GOTY 2018: In other words, Nellie with blond hair and green eyes. I'd totally get her. My age and grade in 2018: 13 years old, 7th-8th grade GOTY 2019: In other words, #33 with brown eyes and medium skin. Even though I just LOVE medium skin and red hair and brown eyes, this edit wasn't that good. If it looked different while having the same features, I'd totally get her. But otherwise, no. My age and grade in 2019: 14 years old, 8th-9th grade (woah, high school!) GOTY 2020: In other words, Maryellen with a grayish attempt at brown eyes and caramel hair. I love this doll so much! My age and grade in 2020: 15 years old, 9th-10th grade GOTY 2021: In other words, Julie with hazel eyes and caramel hair. THERE. IS. SO. MUCH. CARAMEL. HAIR. BEING. GENERATED. I'm lovin' it! My age and grade in 2021: 16 years old (I'd be allowed to get a DRIVER'S LICENSE!), 10th-11th grade GOTY 2022: In other words, #44 with blue eyes. I feel that she is a bit too similar to Summer (my #44 doll), but I still adore this doll! My age and grade in 2022: 17 years old, 11th-12th (WOAH, keep it one step at a time, I'm graduating elementary school in about a week) grade GOTY 2023: In other words, #46 with blue eyes and a new medium-dark skin tone. THIS DOLL IS AMAZING AHH! My age and grade in 2023: 18 years old, 12th grade to film school year 1 GOTY 2024: In other words, McKenna with brown hair and hazel eyes. OMGEE I LOVE HER EYES. My age and grade in 2024: 19 years old, Film school years 1 and 2 GOTY 2025: In other words, Lea with brown hair, blue eyes and I don't know if you can see them freckles. Any doll with Lea's skin tone is perfection. Just saying. My age and grade in 2025: 20 years old, Film school years 2 and 3 GOTY 2026: In other words, GOTY 2021 with medium skin. I don't know what to say. It looks like something American Girl would never do. My age and grade in 2024: 21 years old, Film school years 3 and 4 GOTY 2027: In other words, Grace with red hair and hazel eyes. A perfect finale. That's all I can say. My age and grade in 2027: 22 years old, Film school year 4 and FREEDOM! No more school! I'm a certified director! Where's my Oscar? COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: If you could get any of these dolls, who would you get? MY ANSWER: I'd get 2024 and 2027. If I had to pick just one, than probably 2024.

  • Happy Birthday, Cecile!

Today is Cecile's birthday! She was born this day in 1843, which makes her 173 today! Unlike other dolls, Cecile didn't get a proper birthday book. What are you doing for Cecile's birthday? I'm doing nothing because I don't have her. (My friend Joy has her, she promised to give her to me when she grows out of dolls because I LOVE CECILE!)

  • Lea To The Rescue Back Cover!

I found the Lea To The Rescue DVD back today on Amazon! Here it is: It is really similar to the Grace back cover, but since I'm going to watch it on Apple TV, I won't see it. Thoughts?

  • New PJs For Truly Me Or Tenney Grant, GOTY 2017!

I found these flower-print pajamas on f106884's eBay account. I think they might be for Tenney Grant, GOTY 2017. These pajamas are really cute! I might get them. Here are the slippers... I haven't been liking AG slippers lately, so this set is a breath of fresh air for me! Overall, I love this set! I will get it when it comes out. Maybe Tenney has a thing for flowers! First the bunch of flowers, next the dog, and now the pajamas set! The seller didn't post the back of the outfit. I will post the tag when it leaks! COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: What are you doing for Memorial Day weekend? (If you don't live in America, what are you doing this weekend?) MY ANSWER: I'm staying home and filming and blogging and reading! My only real plan is to go to the Rooms To Go sale tomorrow for a bunk bed.

  • New Belt!

I found a new belt for AG dolls on huaclub_1984's eBay account. It fits with the color scheme of Josefina's new outfit. Maybe it will be included in the outfit? COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: You are going to live on a island with no WiFi for a year. You can only bring one doll. Who would you bring? MY ANSWER: Jade, because she is in the best condition of all of my dolls. Plus, she's the newest.

  • New Canada American Girl Store!

There's a new American Girl store opening in Canada! It is going to be the third store in Toronto, Ontario- well, Toronto is a very big city. It will be located the Sherway Gardens mall. It will open in June 2016. The store will have 26 of the 40 currently available Truly Me dolls, the Girl of the Year doll and 6 out of the 8 currently available BeForever dolls. What do you think of the new store opening?

  • Complete Melody Outfit!

A month ago, I leaked a red dress. At the time, I wasn't sure who it was for, but after reading the sneak peek of Never Stop Singing, I believe it is Melody's Birthday Dress. Well, this red dress popped up off f106884's eBay account again, but with shoes and a hair bow! Let's see what this looks like (don't worry, I won't commercial break you again): Here's the bow up close: And the shoes: I think this outfit is really cute! Along with the pink flower dress, this is my favorite rumored Melody outfit. COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: Will you get Melody? MY ANSWER: Yes! The day she comes out! Even if there's a Macy's One-Day Sale (Macy's is next to American Girl in my local mall) and the mall is packed, I'll still come!

  • After 9 Long Years... JOSEFINA FINALLY GETS A NEW EVERYDAY OUTFIT!

I am so happy to announce that after 9 long years, Josefina is getting a new outfit! Her last outfit (unless you count her BeForever pajamas and meet) was released in 2007, 9 years ago. I am about to show you Josefina's new outfit, but let's go to the commercial break because I am annoying like that about cliffhangers. "Panera Bread is a proud sponsor of American Girl Doll News, because Sydney loves our turkey sandwiches and blueberry bagels." (No kidding, I love Panera Bread turkey sandwiches and blueberry bagels. Even though they sometimes make my blood sugar spike, it's worth it.) OK... drumroll please... I'M GETTING IT THE SECOND IT COMES OUT. COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: Who was your first doll? Why did you get her? MY ANSWER: Ivy (Just Like You #16). It was actually my sister's 6th birthday present, but I ended up with her after I became an American Girl fan. And all of her other dolls too.

  • AGDN Exclusive: Lea To The Rescue Premiere!

The Lea To The Rescue movie premiere was on Monday! I found out from Maggie Elizabeth Jones' Instagram account. Maggie plays the role of Lea, if you just came here a second ago and have no clue what American Girl movies are. Here's a picture of Maggie with Laysla De Oliveira, who plays the role of Paula, at the premiere If I knew where is was and when it was, I would have had full AGDN coverage that day. Lea To The Rescue comes out June 14 on DVD, but if you watch movies on Apple TV/Netflix/Redbox/Amazon Instant Video (which I know most of you do because I haven't seen a movie on DVD in years if you don't count the Samantha DVD I got for Christmas from my grandparents), the wait will be over for you on Tuesday! I will watch it right after school on Tuesday and review it for you guys. COMMENT DISCUSSION QUESTION: What was the last movie you've seen? When did you see it? MY ANSWER: I saw Zootopia a couple of days ago thanks to this handy dandy website called KissCartoon!
